The 25-member Kentucky Workforce Investment Board (KWIB) serves as an advisory board to the Governor. The KWIB is charged with assisting in the development of a state plan for the Commonwealth's workforce investment system, development and continuous improvement of a statewide system, designation of local workforce investment areas, development of allocation formulas, development of a statewide employment statistics system, development and continuous improvement of comprehensive performance measures, and preparation of an annual report. Details are provided in the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. KWIB expectations for carrying out its responsibilities are given in its Strategic Plan. The KWIB Web site’s primary purpose is to provide information for state and local workforce investment board members as they address state and local workforce issues.
